Karen Obuhanych is an author/illustrator fine artist residing on the Big Island of Hawaii.

In her fine art collection, Karen paints with acrylic or creates collages from painted papers, inks, watercolor and color pencil. The flora and fauna of Hawaii are the inspirations behind her work along with the vibrant colors seen all over the islands. Cats are also an important theme of Karen’s artwork and they will pop up every once in a while…

Alongside her gallery work, Karen creates children’s picture books as an author and illustrator. Her debut illustrating book, Annie’s Cat Is Sad, publishes in 2022 as well as her debut author/illustrator book, This Little Kitty. Publishing in 2023 will be Wonder Dogs!, The Fastest Tortoise in Town and Invader From Mars: The Truth About Babies.
